Title - Born with itchy feet
Concept - A chronicle of a man who was born with the heart of an explorer and travelled the length and breadth of India during the 1990s to satiate his desire for travel and living multiple lives in one.
Description -
1. He chanced upon a small spiritual ashram called Madhuban in Ramgarh, Uttarakhand. He decided to spend a few months there and live the life of a monk.
2. After a few months he left for the Andaman & Nicobar islands, and spent a year living with the fishermen at Long Island, Andamans.
3. He landed in Jaisalmer and laid anchor at Sam Sand dunes a mere 45 kms from town. He lived the life of a desert bedouin, wandering about and enjoying his nomadic existence.
4. He travelled southwards and found himself in Dabhoi, Gujarat. It’s an ancient town rich in history. He would wander outside the town and find the large patches of dry cracked earth really fascinating.
5. He then moved eastwards and entered Kanha Tiger Reserve, M.P. He trained for a year and eventually found a job there as a tiger tracker.
6. He took a break and reached Pushkar, Rajasthan. He intermingled with the crowds at the evening flea market, where he bought a pair of quirky trousers and embroidered shoes to go with them.
7. After a few months of rest back home in Delhi. He decided to join the paramilitary forces in Jammu & Kashmir. He went through rigorous training, and experienced many combat situations during skirmishes with terrorists.
8. He found a job as a bartender at the iconic Purple Haze pub in Richmond town, Bangalore. He missed dressing up like a cool city slicker, so he bought himself a pair of chinos and canvas shoes reliving his 20s again.
9. He realised that he needed to tick off the snow mountaineering adventure off his bucket list, so headed to Rangrik Rang in Himachal. There he embarked on a 12 day snow trekking expedition.
10. After craving a change of scene he landed in Mumbai in 1999 where he joined a few of his travel buddies at Polly Esther’s in Colaba and partied hard till the wee hours.
